Royal Truck & Equipment Traffic Control Vehicle Recall 26V502: Loose Solar Panel Can Detach and Strike People or Vehicles

NHTSA campaign 26V502, reported July 31, 2026, 110 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain Royal Truck & Equipment Class 2 Traffic Control trucks equipped with a Wanco sign board have solar panel screws that may loosen over time. When this happens, the solar panel can partially detach and dangle, or in some cases come off completely.

A dangling or detached solar panel can hit other vehicles or pedestrians, raising the risk of a crash or injury. If you own a 2022 through 2026 Royal Truck traffic control vehicle with a Wanco sign board, check the solar panel mounting and contact Royal Truck to have the issue addressed.

Royal Truck will provide free instructions for removing the self-tapping screws and replacing them with rivets. Owner notification letters were mailed September 29, 2026. You can call Royal Truck customer service at 866-975-0212, and you can also check your VIN for any open recalls.
