Arboc Spirit OF Independence Recall 26V479: Rear spring hanger may detach from frame, risking crash

What this recall means for you

ARBOC Specialty Vehicles is recalling certain Spirit of Independence transit buses because the wrong size washers may have been installed on the rear spring hanger bolts. Over time, this can allow the rear spring hanger to detach from the frame, which increases the risk of a crash.

If you own one of these buses, dealers will install the correct washers free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 9, 2026. You can contact ARBOC customer service at 1-866-953-5555 with questions.

Problem
ARBOC Specialty Vehicles, LLC (ARBOC) is recalling certain 2017-2026 Spirit of Independence transit buses. The wrong size washers may have been installed on the rear spring hanger bolts.
Risk
The rear spring hanger may detach from the frame, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will install the correct washers, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 9, 2026. Owners may contact ARBOC customer service at 1-866-953-5555.
