- Problem
- Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2027 Unmapped, Sabre, No Boundaries, Ibex, Surveyor, Sierra, and Sandpiper travel trailers. The Federal Placard may state an incorrect fresh water tank capacity. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."
- Risk
- Incorrect water tank capacity information can allow the vehicle to be overloaded and increase the risk of a crash.
- Remedy
- Dealers will replace the incorrect label, free of charge. Additionally Forest River will mail corrected labels to owners. Owner notification letters were mailed in August 18, 2026. Owners of Surveyor, Ibex, No Boundaries and Unmapped trailers may contact customer service at 1-574-642-3119, or Sabre owners may contact customer service at 1-260-499-2100. Forest River's number for this recall is 51-2076.
What this recall means for you
Certain 2027 Forest River travel trailers may have a Federal Placard that states an incorrect fresh water tank capacity. Because the label is wrong, the trailer can be loaded beyond its intended limits, which increases the risk of a crash. The notice also states the trailers do not meet the labeling requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 110.
If you own an affected trailer, an authorized dealer will replace the incorrect label free of charge. Forest River will also mail corrected labels to owners, and owner notification letters were mailed on August 18, 2026.
