Coach And Equipment Phoenix Recall 26V472: Wheelchair Lift May Not Stop, Risking Injury

NHTSA campaign 26V472, reported July 22, 2026, 131 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain transit buses fitted with S-Series wheelchair platform lifts may have an electrical contactor that can fail. When this happens, the lift controls cannot stop the lift from moving, so the lift can keep moving while a person is on it.

A wheelchair lift that continues to move while occupied raises the risk of injury to the rider. Owners of affected buses should take this recall seriously and arrange for the repair.

Authorized dealers will correct the wiring by installing two diodes, at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed July 31, 2026. For questions, contact Coach and Equipment customer service at 1-800-724-8464, and check your vehicle's VIN for any open recalls.
