What this recall means for you
Certain 2025-2027 IC Bus CECB transit buses may have the driver's window panel and entrance door vertical joints attached without enough epoxy coverage. As a result, the vehicle does not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 221 for school bus body joint strength.
If the body panels are not properly secured, they may separate during a crash. This reduces the structural integrity of the bus and increases the risk of injury to occupants.
The repair is free. Dealers will install rivets along the driver's side window seam and the entrance door seam at no charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 8, 2026. For questions, contact International's customer service at 1-800-448-7825 and reference recall number 26512. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
