What this recall means for you
Certain 2025-2027 IC Bus EVSB and CESB school buses may have been built with the driver's window panel and entrance door vertical joints attached without enough epoxy coverage. As a result, these buses do not fully meet federal school bus body joint strength requirements (FMVSS No. 221).
If the buses are involved in a crash, the body panels may separate, which weakens the vehicle's structure and increases the risk of injury to occupants.
The repair is free. Authorized dealers will install rivets along the driver's side window seam and the entrance door seam. Owner notification letters were mailed September 8, 2026. To check whether your vehicle is affected, contact International's customer service at 1-800-448-7825 (recall number 26511), or check your VIN for open recalls.
