Wabash DRY Truck Body Recall 26V449: Liftgate Can Fall Unexpectedly, Risking Injury

NHTSA campaign 26V449, reported July 14, 2026, 4 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The deck pins that hold the liftgate platform may break. If a pin fails, the liftgate platform can fall unexpectedly, which increases the risk of injury to people nearby.

Because a falling liftgate can strike or pin someone, owners should stop using the liftgate for loading or unloading until the repair is completed, and keep people clear of the platform while it is in use. Wabash will work with Hiab to replace the deck pins and bushing kits at no cost to the owner.

Owner notification letters were mailed August 27, 2026. If you have questions, contact Wabash customer service at 1-765-771-5404. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
