What this recall means for you
Certain 2026 Teko vehicles may be missing the acoustic vehicle alerting system (AVAS), which is meant to produce sound so pedestrians can hear an approaching vehicle. Without it, the vehicle does not meet federal minimum sound requirements for hybrid and electric vehicles.
A vehicle that makes no sound may not alert pedestrians to its approach, which increases the risk of a crash or injury. Owners should watch for their notification letter, expected to be mailed August 17, 2026. Teko will provide an AVAS kit free of charge, and the repair is free at an authorized dealer.
If you own an affected vehicle, check your VIN for open recalls and contact Teko Customer Care at [email protected] with any questions.
