Lincoln Nautilus Hybrid Recall 26V415: Hybrid SUVs May Not Sound Pedestrian Warning at Low Speeds

NHTSA campaign 26V415, reported June 30, 2026, 66,383 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain Lincoln Nautilus Hybrid and Ford Explorer Hybrid vehicles may have a software error that prevents the pedestrian warning sound from activating at certain speeds. The affected systems are the back-over prevention and forward collision avoidance pedestrian alerts.

Because the vehicle may not produce the warning sound, pedestrians, including people who are blind or have low vision, may not be alerted to an approaching vehicle, which increases the risk of injury. This recall expands Recall 25V691, and vehicles previously repaired under that recall must have the new remedy completed.

The repair is free. Ford will release an over-the-air software update or dealers will update the APIM software, and on Nautilus Hybrid vehicles with 28 speakers, dealers will also replace the digital signal processing module. The remedy is being rolled out in phases by model and model year. Owners were notified by letter beginning August 7, 2026, and can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 (Ford recall number 26S51). Check your VIN for open recalls on NHTSA.gov, where VINs for this recall will be searchable beginning July 7, 2026.
