What this recall means for you
Certain 2025-2026 Hyundai Tucson, Tucson Hybrid, and Tucson Plug-In Hybrid vehicles have a software error that can cause the instrument panel display to fail. The display may stop showing critical safety information such as the speedometer or warning lights. This does not meet federal requirements for controls and displays.
When the instrument panel fails to show speed and warning indicators, the driver may not notice problems with the vehicle or may misjudge their speed, which increases the risk of a crash.
The remedy is a free software update to the instrument panel display, delivered over the air or performed by an authorized Hyundai dealer. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 22, 2026. You can check whether your VIN is included in this recall at NHTSA.gov, and you can contact Hyundai customer service at 855-371-9460 (recall number 304).
