What this recall means for you
The touchscreen display in certain emergency vehicles may stop responding to touch commands or fail to power on. When this happens, the operator cannot activate the exterior emergency lights or the fire fighting and other emergency equipment.
Reduced exterior lighting can make the vehicle harder for other drivers to see, which increases the risk of a crash. Equipment that cannot be switched on can also delay emergency response and increase the risk of injury.
The remedy is free. Farber Specialty will work with Akron Brass to update the firmware and repair the power line at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed August 17, 2026. You can contact Farber customer service at 1-800-331-3188, and you should check your vehicle's VIN for open recalls.
