Storyteller Overland GXV Hilt Recall 26V392: Pulley can fail, causing loss of power brakes and steering

What this recall means for you

Certain 2024-2026 Storyteller Overland GXV Hilt vehicles may have a secondary alternator pulley that can fail. If it does, the vehicle can lose power brakes and power steering without warning.

Losing power brakes makes the vehicle take longer to stop, and losing power steering makes it harder to control. Either situation can increase the risk of a crash.

Storyteller will replace the secondary alternator free of charge. Owners were sent an interim letter on August 13, 2026, and a second letter will be mailed when the free remedy is available. Problem
Storyteller Overland, LLC (Storyteller) is recalling certain 2024-2026 GXV Hilt vehicles. The secondary alternator pulley may fail, resulting in a loss of power brakes and power steering.
Risk
An unexpected loss of power brakes increases the distance required to stop. A loss of power steering increases the amount of effort needed to control the vehicle. Both situations may increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Storyteller will replace the secondary alternator, free of charge. Interim owner letters were mailed August 13, 2026. A second letter will be mailed when the free remedy is available. Owners may contact Storyteller customer service at 1-888-999-7442.
