What this recall means for you
Some boom trucks have an insulating personnel jib (IJ26) where the inside joints between the side plates and base plates may be missing welds. Over time, this can cause the platform to fail through fatigue or overload, and the platform could fall from the boom tip, raising the risk of injury.
If you own one of these vehicles, inspect the IJ26 jib for missing welds. If any welds are missing, take the jib out of service immediately and do not use it until it is repaired. Altec will add the missing welds or provide a repair procedure and kit, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 23, 2026.
