- Problem
- Great Dane Trailers (Great Dane) is recalling certain 2026 Champion dry van trailers. The deck pins may break, resulting in the liftgate platform falling.
- Risk
- A liftgate that falls unexpectedly increases the risk of injury.
- Remedy
- Great Dane will work with Hiab to inspect and replace the deck pins and bushing kits as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 24, 2026. Owners may contact Great Dane's customer service at 1-877-369-3493.
What this recall means for you
Certain 2026 Great Dane Champion dry van trailers may have deck pins that can break. If a pin fails, the liftgate platform can fall unexpectedly, which increases the risk of injury to anyone near or using the liftgate.
If you own an affected trailer, Great Dane will inspect the deck pins and replace them and the bushing kits as needed, at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed July 24, 2026. You can also contact Great Dane customer service at 1-877-369-3493 to arrange the repair, and check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
