Denago EV Nomad Recall 26V381: EV may not make pedestrian warning sound, raising crash risk

NHTSA campaign 26V381, reported June 10, 2026, 34,136 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The electric vehicle may fail to emit the pedestrian warning sound it needs while moving. Federal safety standard FMVSS 141 requires electric and hybrid vehicles to make sound so pedestrians can hear them approaching. Without that sound, pedestrians may not notice a moving vehicle, which increases the risk of a crash or injury.

An authorized dealer will install an acoustic vehicle alerting system remedy kit at no cost to you. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 5, 2026. You can also contact Denago EV customer service at 1-877-755-2453.

Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) for affected vehicles will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning July 1, 2026. Check your VIN there for open recalls.
