NHTSA campaign 26V376, reported June 9, 2026, 5,252 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain Ford Focus and Fusion vehicles that were previously repaired incorrectly under earlier recalls may have a clutch that fractures. This can damage the transmission and may cause a transmission fluid leak. If fluid leaks onto hot engine or exhaust parts, it can increase the risk of a fire.

Dealers will update the vehicle's software at no cost. On Focus vehicles, dealers will also inspect the clutch assembly and replace it if needed, again at no charge. Owner notification letters were sent October 16, 2026. VINs for affected vehicles will become searchable on NHTSA.gov starting July 6, 2026.

If you own one of these vehicles, contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 and reference recall 26S43, or check your VIN for open recalls. Schedule a free repair at an authorized Ford dealer.
