What this recall means for you
Some 2026 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vehicles have a steering column assembly that was built incorrectly. The gear shifter may give inaccurate gear selection feedback, so the gear you think you've selected may not match the one the vehicle is actually in.
If the gear selection is inaccurate, the vehicle may move unexpectedly, which increases the risk of a crash. Until the repair is done, visually check the shift position indicator every time you select a gear, and always set the parking brake when parking the vehicle.
Dealers will replace the transmission control on the steering column free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 9, 2026. Contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-888-988-7267, and check your VIN for open recalls.
