- Component
- STRUCTURE:INTERIOR PANELS:DOOR; VISIBILITY:GLASS, SIDE/REAR
- Problem
- Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2019-2020 LFS Artic and 2019-2023 LFS transit buses. The driver's speaker hole door may have been built with the prime glazing manufacturer DOT code mark missing. As such, these vehicles fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 205, "Glazing Materials."
- Risk
- A missing DOT code mark may result in the door being replaced with the incorrect type of plastic, reducing visibility and increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy
- Nova Bus will replace the plastic panel door, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 23, 2026. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-450-472-6410. Nova Bus' number for this recall is CR5884. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning October 23, 2026.
What this recall means for you
Some transit buses may have a driver's speaker hole door built without the required DOT code mark on its glazing material. Because the mark is missing, the door may have been fitted with the wrong type of plastic. This can reduce the driver's visibility and increase the risk of a crash.
The affected vehicles are certain model year 2019 through 2023 Nova Bus LFS and LFS Artic transit buses. The manufacturer will replace the plastic panel door free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 23, 2026. To check whether your bus is included, contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-450-472-6410 and reference recall number CR5884, or search your vehicle identification number (VIN) on NHTSA.gov, where involved VINs will be searchable starting October 23, 2026.
