Utilimaster Aeromaster Recall 26V265: Wrong weight rating label may lead to overloading and crash risk

NHTSA campaign 26V265, reported April 24, 2026, 21 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The certification label on certain 2022 Utilimaster Aeromaster vehicles may list an incorrect Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). Because the label states the wrong maximum weight, the vehicle can be unintentionally overloaded, which increases the risk of a crash.

If you own one of these vehicles, Shyft Group will install new certification labels free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 7, 2026. You can contact Shyft customer service at 1-800-237-7806 and reference recall number 26-03. The repair is free at an authorized dealer, and you can check your VIN for open recalls.

Until the corrected label is installed, avoid loading the vehicle beyond the weight limits you can confirm from reliable sources, and do not rely on the GVWR printed on the existing label.
