What this recall means for you
Rear brake modulators on certain heavy trucks may have unprotected electrical connectors. These connectors can short circuit, which may cause the anti-lock brake system (ABS) and electronic stability control (ESC) to stop working.
Losing anti-lock brakes and electronic stability control raises the risk of a crash or injury, particularly when braking or maneuvering under difficult conditions. Owners should have the recall checked as soon as possible.
The repair is free at an authorized dealer. Dealers will inspect the rear brake modulator electrical connectors, install a protective cover, and replace the rear brake modulators as necessary. Owners can contact Volvo Trucks customer service at 800-528-6586 (recall number RVXX2605), and can check whether their VIN is involved in this recall on NHTSA.gov, where VINs will be searchable beginning April 30, 2026.
