Hexagon Purus Tern RC8 Recall 26V253: Dash may show false brake failure or wrong air pressure

NHTSA campaign 26V253, reported April 20, 2026, 17 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A software error can cause the digital instrument display to show incorrect air brake pressure and falsely indicate a brake system failure. Because the display may not accurately show the brake condition, the driver may not be alerted to a real brake problem, which increases the risk of a crash.

Hexagon Purus will update the vehicle's software at no cost. Owner notification letters were mailed June 19, 2026. If you own an affected vehicle, contact Hexagon Purus customer service at 1-949-359-8168 to schedule the free software update. You can also check your VIN for open recalls on the NHTSA website.
