What this recall means for you
Certain 2025 and 2026 Altec Aerial Device and Digger Derrick vehicles have a front end radar that was improperly installed. This can cause the Adaptive Cruise Control and Active Brake Assist systems to operate incorrectly, so the brakes may activate unexpectedly without the driver pressing the pedal. A sudden, unintended braking event raises the risk of a crash.
Altec will notify owners to inspect the front end radar installation. If it was installed incorrectly, take the vehicle to an authorized OEM Chassis dealer, where the radar will be remounted and calibrated free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 12, 2026.
