Forest River Avenger Recall 26V221: Incorrect weight label may lead to trailer overloading

NHTSA campaign 26V221, reported April 8, 2026, 173 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain travel trailers may have a Federal Placard label that lists an incorrect dry weight. The incorrect label also means the vehicle does not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 110, which covers tire selection and rims.

Because the weight information is wrong, an owner could unintentionally overload the trailer. An overloaded vehicle has an increased risk of a crash.

The remedy is free: authorized dealers will replace the label at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed April 17, 2026. For questions, contact Forest River customer service at 1-260-499-2100 and reference recall number 452-2045. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
