Greenpower Beast School Bus Recall 26V219: Missing mirror warning label could lead to crashes

What this recall means for you

Some Greenpower Beast and Nano Beast school buses may be missing a label on the Cross View Mirror. The mirror is designed only to show pedestrians around stopped buses, and the label warns drivers not to use it to watch vehicle traffic. Without the warning, a driver may rely on the mirror's view to check other vehicles, which raises the risk of a crash. The vehicles also do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 111, which covers rear visibility.

Greenpower will inspect the mirror and install the missing label as needed, at no cost to owners. Owner notification letters were mailed May 4, 2026. If you own an affected bus, contact Greenpower customer service at 1-909-346-1090 and reference recall number GP-SVS-26-001 to schedule the free remedy.

You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls on the NHTSA website or through your dealer. Until the label is installed, do not use the Cross View Mirror to monitor vehicular traffic.
