Setra S407 Recall 26V176: Dashboard switches may not light properly, raising crash risk

What this recall means for you

Certain Setra S417 and S407 coaches have switches for the hazard warning lights, defroster, heating and air conditioning, and fan speed that may not illuminate correctly. Switches that are too bright can distract the driver, while switches that are too dim or unlit make them harder to find and use, which can increase the risk of a crash. The vehicles also fail to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 101 for control and displays.

If you own an affected vehicle, Daimler Coaches North America will repair the hazard warning lights switch free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 11, 2026. You can contact Daimler Coaches' customer service at 1-416-624-3558 to confirm your vehicle is included and to arrange the repair.

You should also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls and have the repair completed at an authorized dealer.
