Altec Digger Derrick Recall 26V170: Lighting Harness Missing, Risking Lost Body or Trailer Lights

NHTSA campaign 26V170, reported March 20, 2026, 134 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2025 Altec AC Series Crane and DT Series Digger Derrick trucks may have a missing wiring harness that was meant to keep the lights Altec installed from overloading the chassis lighting circuit. Without it, power to the body lighting or trailer lights can be lost.

Loss of body lighting or trailer lights makes a crash more likely, because other drivers may not see the vehicle or its trailer, especially at night or in poor visibility. Owners should inspect their vehicle for the harness as described in the owner notification letter mailed May 15, 2026.

If the harness is missing, Altec will provide a repair kit free of charge. Owners with questions can contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832, referencing recall number CSN-3295. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
