Micro Bird G5 Transit Bus Recall 26V147: Wheelchair Tie-Downs May Not Lock, Risking Injury

NHTSA campaign 26V147, reported March 13, 2026, 345 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain transit buses have a wheelchair tie-down problem caused by an installation error. The tie-downs may fail to lock, which means a wheelchair may not be properly secured.

An unsecured wheelchair can move during travel or in a crash, which increases the risk of injury to the wheelchair user and others on board.

If you own an affected bus, a dealer will inspect the wheelchair tie-down anchor and secure the anchor screw cap as needed, at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed April 29, 2026. You can contact Micro Bird Customer Service at 819-477-2012, and you can check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
