NHTSA campaign 26V064, reported February 4, 2026, 202 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain rear lights on these vehicles may not function properly. A taillight, brake light, or rear turn signal that works incorrectly makes it harder for other drivers to see your vehicle or understand what you are doing, which increases the risk of a crash. The vehicles also do not meet the federal lighting standard for rear lamps.

Dealers will replace the rear lights free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 2, 2026. You can also contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417. Check your vehicle identification number (VIN) on NHTSA.gov, where involved VINs are searchable beginning March 27, 2026, to see whether your vehicle is affected.
