Zero DS Recall 26V048: Front Brake Hose Can Twist, Leak Fluid and Cause Brake Failure

NHTSA campaign 26V048, reported January 28, 2026, 118 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The front brake hose on certain motorcycles may become twisted and damaged over time. This can cause a brake fluid leak and a loss of brake pressure, reducing your ability to stop.

A loss of brake pressure can reduce braking ability and lead to a loss of vehicle control, which raises the risk of a crash. Owners of affected 2024 and 2025 Zero DS, DSR, DSR/X, and DSRP motorcycles should take this seriously.

Dealers will inspect the front brake hose and replace it as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 23, 2026. You can contact Zero customer service at 1-888-841-8085, and check your VIN for open recalls, which will be searchable on NHTSA.gov starting February 27, 2026.
