- Problem
- Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Toyota Tundra and Tundra Hybrid vehicles equipped with a Panoramic View Monitor (PVM) system. The rearview camera image may not display when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
- Risk
- A rearview camera image that does not display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy
- Dealers will update the parking assist ECU software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 23, 2026. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 26TB02 and 26TA02.
What this recall means for you
Certain 2024 and 2025 Toyota Tundra and Tundra Hybrid trucks with a Panoramic View Monitor system may not show the rearview camera image when the vehicle is put in reverse. Without that image, the driver has less view of what is behind the truck, which increases the risk of a crash. The vehicles also do not meet the federal rear visibility standard.
The remedy is a free software update to the parking assist control unit, performed by an authorized Toyota dealer. Owner notification letters were mailed March 23, 2026. For questions, you can contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331, and you should check your VIN for open recalls on the NHTSA website and at your dealer.
