Polestar Polestar 3 Recall 26V037: Loose rear seat backrest could fall forward in a crash

NHTSA campaign 26V037, reported January 23, 2026, 213 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The striker brackets that hold the rear seat backrest in place may be loose on certain 2025 vehicles. Because of this, the seats do not fully meet federal seating system safety requirements.

If the rear seat backrest is loose, it may fall forward during a crash and allow cargo to enter the cabin, which increases the risk of injury to occupants.

Dealers will inspect the rear seat backrest striker bracket mounting nuts and tighten them as needed, at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed March 4, 2026. You can contact Polestar customer service at 1-800-806-2504 and reference recall RP1079. You can also check whether your vehicle identification number (VIN) is involved; VINs for this recall become searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning January 30, 2026.
