Micro Bird G5E Transit Bus Recall 25V902: Power steering pump may fail to start or shut off

NHTSA campaign 25V902, reported December 19, 2025, 10 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The hydraulic power steering pump on certain G5E transit buses may fail to start when the ignition is turned on, or may shut down unexpectedly while driving. Either way, the power steering assist can be lost.

Loss of power steering assist makes the bus harder to steer and can increase the risk of a crash. Stop driving the vehicle if you notice steering becoming unexpectedly heavy or a power steering warning, and contact a dealer.

The remedy is free. Authorized dealers will inspect the power steering pump and update its software as necessary. Micro Bird mailed owner notification letters on February 18, 2026. You can also contact Micro Bird Customer Service at 819-477-2012, referencing recall number 25-119-PUC.
