- New Flyer will update the software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 17, 2026. Owners may contact New Flyer's customer service at 1-800-241-2947.
What this recall means for you
The antilock braking (ABS) and electronic stability control (ESC) module in these transit buses may lose communication and fail without turning on the warning lights. As a result, the driver may not be alerted that ABS or ESC has stopped working, and the vehicles do not meet federal safety standards for air brake systems and electronic stability control on heavy vehicles.
Without a warning, a driver may not realize that anti-lock braking or stability control is unavailable, which increases the risk of a crash. Owners should contact New Flyer of America at 1-800-241-2947. New Flyer will update the software at no cost. Owner notification letters were mailed February 17, 2026.
Check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls to confirm whether your bus is affected, and schedule the free software update with an authorized dealer.
