Ford Bronco Recall 25V888: Rearview Camera May Stay On After Reversing, Distracting Drivers

NHTSA campaign 25V888, reported December 18, 2025, 35 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some vehicles had their 8-inch SYNC infotainment screens repaired incorrectly under an earlier recall. As a result, the rearview camera image may remain on the screen after the vehicle has been shifted out of reverse. The vehicles do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 111 for rear visibility.

A rearview image that keeps displaying after you leave reverse can distract the driver's attention from the road, which increases the risk of a crash.

The repair is free. A dealer will update the SYNC module software at no charge. Owners can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332, referencing recall 25C72. Owner notification letters were mailed January 28, 2026, and affected VINs will be searchable on NHTSA.gov starting January 30, 2026. Check your VIN for open recalls to confirm whether your vehicle is included.
