Mack Granite (Gu) Recall 25V867: Brakes may overheat, risking tire blowout or fire

NHTSA campaign 25V867, reported December 15, 2025, 679 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some heavy trucks had incorrect parts installed during earlier brake repairs under a prior recall. These parts can cause uneven braking between the steer and drive axles and make the rear brakes overheat.

Overheated brakes can lead to a tire blowout or fire, which increases the risk of a crash. Owners who received a remedy under the earlier recall must have the new remedy completed.

Dealers will inspect the brake chambers and replace them as necessary, free of charge. Owners can contact Mack customer service at 1-800-866-1177, and can check their VIN for open recalls on NHTSA.gov.
