Arboc Specialty Vehicles Spirit OF Freedom Recall 25V841: Wheelchair Straps May Not Lock, Risking Movement in Transit

NHTSA campaign 25V841, reported December 8, 2025, 22 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain transit buses have wheelchair securement retractors that may fail to lock. If a retractor does not lock, a wheelchair may not be properly secured and can move while the bus is in transit.

An unsecured wheelchair increases the risk of injury to the wheelchair user and to other passengers during travel, especially during sudden stops, turns, or collisions.

The remedy is free. Authorized dealers will inspect the wheelchair retractors and replace them as necessary at no cost to you. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed in December 2025. You can also contact ARBOC customer service at 1-866-953-5555, and you should check your vehicle's VIN for any open recalls.
