Forest River Bus Collins School Bus Recall 25V779: Wheelchair Straps May Not Lock, Risking Movement in Transit

NHTSA campaign 25V779, reported November 13, 2025, 165 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain school buses equipped with QRT-Deluxe or QRT-Max wheelchair restraints may have retractors that do not lock. When the retractor fails to lock, the wheelchair may not be properly secured during the trip.

An unsecured wheelchair can move while the bus is in transit, which increases the risk of injury to the wheelchair user and others on board. Owners of affected vehicles should take this seriously and have the recall addressed promptly.

The repair is free. Authorized dealers will inspect the wheelchair restraint retractors and replace them as necessary at no charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 10, 2025. You can also contact Forest River Bus customer service at 1-800-348-7440, and check your vehicle's VIN for open recalls.
