Micro Bird G5 School Bus Recall 25V770: Wheelchair Restraints May Not Lock, Risking Movement in a Crash

NHTSA campaign 25V770, reported November 7, 2025, 42 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2026 G5 transit buses equipped with QRT-Deluxe or QRT-Max wheelchair restraints may have retractors that do not lock. As a result, a wheelchair may not be properly secured.

An unlocked wheelchair can move during transit or during a crash, which increases the risk of injury to the wheelchair occupant and others on the bus. If you operate or ride in one of these vehicles, contact an authorized dealer to have the wheelchair restraint retractors inspected. Dealers will replace the retractors as necessary at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed December 8, 2025; you can also contact Micro Bird Customer Service at 819-477-2012 and reference recall number 25-117-QVC.
