- Problem
- Corp. Micro Bird, Inc. (Micro Bird) is recalling certain 2023-2026 G5 and 2025 T-Series school buses equipped with certain QRT-Deluxe and QRT-Max wheelchair restraints. The retractors may not lock, preventing the wheelchair from being properly secured.
- Risk
- An unlocked wheelchair can move during transit or during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
- Remedy
- Dealers will inspect and replace the retractors as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 8, 2025. Owners can contact Micro Bird Customer Service at 819-477-2012. Micro Bird's number for this recall is 25-117-QUS.
What this recall means for you
Certain school buses equipped with QRT-Deluxe or QRT-Max wheelchair restraints may have retractors that do not lock. As a result, a wheelchair may not be properly secured.
An unlocked wheelchair can move during transit or during a crash, which increases the risk of injury to the wheelchair user and others on the bus. If you own or operate an affected vehicle, check that wheelchair securement equipment is working as intended and contact an authorized dealer as soon as possible.
Authorized dealers will inspect the wheelchair restraint retractors and replace them as necessary, free of charge. Owners were notified by letter mailed December 8, 2025.
