East TO West Alta Recall 25V714: Incorrect weight label may lead to trailer overloading

NHTSA campaign 25V714, reported October 21, 2025, 100 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2025 and 2026 East to West Alta travel trailers may have an incorrect axle capacity listed on the Federal certification placard. This affects the listed Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) and Cargo Carrying Capacity (CCC), which were calculated incorrectly, so the vehicle may not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 110 for tire selection and rims.

Because the placard shows the wrong limits, you could load the trailer beyond what it is designed to carry. An overloaded trailer increases the risk of a crash.

Dealers will replace the label free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 19, 2025. If you have questions, contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-264-6664, referencing recall number 501-1994, and check your VIN for any open recalls.
