Lincoln Nautilus Hybrid Recall 25V691: Hybrid SUVs May Not Emit Pedestrian Warning Sound

NHTSA campaign 25V691, reported October 10, 2025, 43,438 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2024-2026 Lincoln Nautilus Hybrid and 2025 Ford Explorer Hybrid vehicles have a software error that can prevent the pedestrian warning sound from playing at certain speeds. The sound is meant to alert people nearby to an approaching vehicle, and without it, pedestrians may not notice the car in time.

A vehicle that does not produce its warning sound may fail to alert pedestrians of an approaching vehicle, which increases the risk of injury. Owners should be aware of this, especially when driving in parking lots, near crosswalks, or in other areas with pedestrians.

The remedy is free. A dealer will update the audio control module and digital signal processing module software, or the update may be delivered over the air. Owner notification letters were mailed November 5, 2025. For questions, contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 and reference recall 25SA2. You can also check your VIN for open recalls on NHTSA.gov, where VINs for this recall became searchable on October 10, 2025.
