Ford Mustang Recall 25V689: Low brake fluid warning light may not turn on

NHTSA campaign 25V689, reported October 10, 2025, 2,101 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

On certain 2021-2023 Ford Mustangs that were previously repaired under an earlier recall, the brake fluid level sensor may fail to activate the warning light on the dashboard when brake fluid is low. Without that warning, a driver may keep driving with low brake fluid, which reduces braking performance and raises the risk of a crash.

The fix is a body control module software update, performed by dealers at no cost to owners. Owner notification letters were mailed December 11, 2025. To check whether your vehicle is affected, look up your VIN for open recalls at NHTSA.gov, where affected VINs become searchable beginning November 17, 2025. You can also contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 and reference Ford recall number 25C55.
