Wabash National Van Recall 25V625: Rear guard may not protect cars in rear-end crashes

NHTSA campaign 25V625, reported September 19, 2025, 10 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Wabash National is recalling certain 2026 DVCVHPC van trailers because an incorrect rear impact guard may have been installed. As a result, the trailers do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 224, which governs rear impact protection.

The incorrect guard may not adequately protect a following vehicle in a rear-end crash, which increases the risk of injury to occupants of that vehicle. Wabash has already replaced the rear impact guards on all affected trailers at no cost, and all affected trailers were repaired by August 18, 2025.

If you own or operate one of these trailers, contact Wabash customer service at 1-765-771-5404 to confirm your trailer's status. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
