Mack Pioneer PR (4) Recall 25V622: Trailer Lights May Not Illuminate, Raising Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 25V622, reported September 18, 2025, 156 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The lighting control module in certain vehicles may have been improperly manufactured. When towing a trailer, the trailer tail lights and turn signals may fail to illuminate as intended, reducing how visible your rig is to other drivers.

Dim or missing trailer lights make it harder for drivers behind you to see when you are braking or turning, which increases the risk of a crash. If you tow a trailer, check that your trailer lights work before you drive, and pay attention to any warning signs on your dashboard.

The repair is free. Dealers will replace the trailer body input/output module at no cost to you. Owner letters were mailed November 19, 2025, and you can contact Mack customer service at 1-800-866-1177 (recall number SC0484) for help. You can also check whether your vehicle identification number (VIN) is included in this recall by searching NHTSA.gov, where affected VINs will be searchable beginning September 25, 2025.
