RAM 4500 Recall 25V618: Trailer hitch may detach from the vehicle

NHTSA campaign 25V618, reported September 17, 2025, 10 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2023 Ram 4500 trucks fitted with a Curt trailer hitch may have been installed with too few mounting bolts. Over time, the hitch assembly can loosen and separate from the truck.

A detached trailer hitch can fall onto the road and create a hazard for other drivers, which increases the risk of a crash.

The repair is free. Reading Truck Body, LLC will replace the hitch at no cost, and owner notification letters were mailed October 1, 2025. If you have questions, contact Reading's customer service at 1-610-775-3301. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
