Skeeter FXR Recall 25V613: Boarding ladder may fail, risking falls and crashes

NHTSA campaign 25V613, reported September 12, 2025, 922 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some Skeeter FXR boat trailers were built with a boarding ladder used to reach the bow of the boat that has incomplete welds. The weld gaps can cause the ladder to fail while in use, which raises the risk of injury to the person climbing it. If the welds fail during transport, loose debris can cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash.

If you own a 2024 or 2025 Skeeter FXR trailer, dealers will replace the trailer boarding ladder free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 10, 2025. You can also contact Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA customer service at 1-800-962-7926, referencing recall number 2025-001.

You can check your VIN for open recalls at NHTSA.gov or through an authorized dealer, and avoid using the ladder until it has been inspected or replaced.
