Dodge Charger EV Recall 25V574: Vehicle May Roll Away When Placed in Park

NHTSA campaign 25V574, reported September 4, 2025, 75 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some 2024-2025 Dodge Charger EV and Jeep Wagoneer S electric vehicles have an incorrectly installed spring in the automatic transmission's park pawl. This can cause the park function to fail when the gear selector is in Park (P), so the vehicle may roll away even though it appears parked. The vehicles also do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 114 for theft protection and rollaway prevention.

A rollaway increases the risk of a crash. Owners should contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403, referencing recall 63C, and check whether their VIN is involved. Owner notification letters were mailed September 25, 2025, and affected VINs will be searchable on NHTSA.gov starting September 11, 2025.

The remedy is free: an authorized dealer will replace the electric drive module at no cost to you. Until the repair is completed, avoid relying on Park alone on a slope, and set the parking brake and turn the wheels toward the curb when parking on an incline.
