Vermeer R600T Recall 25V557: Rear Guard May Be Too Weak, Raising Crash Injury Risk

NHTSA campaign 25V557, reported August 28, 2025, 2 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2025 Vermeer R600T trailers have rear impact guards that may not have adequate strength. Because of this, the trailers do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 223, which governs rear impact guards on trailers.

Weak rear impact guards can increase the risk of injury during a crash, since the guard may not hold up as intended to protect occupants of a vehicle that strikes the rear of the trailer.

Authorized Vermeer dealers will repair the rear impact guards free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 21, 2025. To learn more, contact Vermeer customer service at 1-800-829-0051 ext. 7060, and check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
