Altec AP Series Recall 25V509: Brake air line may detach, engaging emergency brakes

NHTSA campaign 25V509, reported August 8, 2025, 45 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A brake air line compression fitting on certain 2025 AP Series vehicles may not be tightened correctly. If it is not secure, the supply line or other air lines can detach and cause the chassis emergency brakes to engage unexpectedly.

Sudden emergency brake activation can make the vehicle stop abruptly, which increases the risk of a crash.

Owners will receive instructions to inspect the brake air lines. If the lines are improperly secured, Altec will provide instructions and a kit to secure them. Repairs are free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 3, 2025, and you can contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832 (recall CSN-3242). You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
