AMO Utility Trailer Recall 25V468: Loose Axle Nuts Can Let Trailer Axle Detach

NHTSA campaign 25V468, reported July 14, 2025, 2,294 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The shackle nuts that secure the axle to the chassis on certain 2025 utility trailers may loosen over time. If they loosen, the axle can detach from the trailer.

An axle separation can cause a loss of trailer control, which raises the risk of a crash. Owners should take this seriously and not tow the trailer until it has been checked if they have reason to believe it is affected.

The repair is free. American Manufacturing Operations, Inc. (AMO) will remove the shackle nuts and install new ones at no charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 3, 2025. If you have questions, contact AMO customer service at 1-419-269-1560, and check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
